Rough Running: supporting Lizzie’s Legacy

On 15 June 2019 we took on the Rough Runner obstacle course – the closest thing you’ll find to doing Wipeout, Ninja Warrior and Gladiators rolled into one. This challenge saw us taking the sweeper and hoping to be part of the 1% who succeed on the big red balls and triumphs on the travelator! We got wet and weary clambering over the 10-15k course!

Funds raised will support Lizzie’s Legacy. Lizzie was the inspiration for the 2015 Born Survivor challenge. This year we are enabling the youth work in the community to flourish by providing a safe, secure and welcoming space where local needs of young adults, such as mental health (including depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts), loneliness, social media and other seemingly unrealistic pressures can be discussed openly and addressed.  Lizzie has inspired St James and Emmanuel to become one of the UK’s few fully LGBT inclusive evangelical churches and we’re so proud to be associated with Lizzie’s ongoing legacy.

The amount raised was £5,375.00, exceeding our £5,000 target! Allowing for Gift Aid, the amount raised totals a brilliant £6,507.25.

Donate to Lizzie’s Legacy.

Also, while you’re here, check out our ‘Church for Everyone’ conference at Emmanuel on Saturday 26th October.
