St James church
The process of saying goodbye, grieving and remembering a lost loved one merely begins at the time of the funeral. Everyone experiences it differently, but grieving can go on for some time.
You are invited to the Service of Remembrance at St James church if it is something that will help you as you continue to remember someone you have lost. During this service there will be a mixture of readings, hymns and reflections culminating in an Act of Remembrance where you will be able to hear the name of your loved one read out as a minister lights a candle in their memory.
If you wish to have the name of your loved one read out, please complete a slip of paper when you arrive for the service and place it in the basket on the table at the back of church.
You are, of course, very welcome to bring other members of your family or friends to this service, but due to Covid-19, you can only sit with members of your household or social bubble, and you need to book your places ahead of time.
Places are limited, and you can book a ‘bubble’ for up to three people below. If you change your plans, please cancel your booking to free up space for others.
