You don’t need to come to church to be married in church.
But, it would be lovely to get to know you and many couples come along to hear their Banns being read. St James and Emmanuel is often a surprise to people. It’s diverse, it’s intelligent, it’s dignified, its friendly and it’s alive with people of all ages. There is literally no better way to become a meaningful part of the community. Couples are surprised by what they find and keep coming back. We have couples who have married with us, had children baptised with us and then go on to gain places at one of our three Church of England Primary Schools. The only group of people who do need to habitually attend church are those without a prior qualifying connection. We will guide you as to how this can be achieved.
We hold a variety of services to suit different times of day and different styles of worship.
There are also other ways of belonging to the church throughout the week, including small groups, toddler groups etc. Please email the Parish Office if you need any more details.
